Job Title: Manager, Franchise Growth & Restaurant Economics (Finance)

Compensation: $110,600 - $130,000 based on candidate skills and experience, plus bonus based on individual and team factor

Purpose of the Job

We cook chicken fresh, from scratch, in all 4,000 of our US restaurants, and you will provide leadership and support in working with franchisees to grow more chicken joints! You will also drive a cross-functional team to improve the existing restaurant financials.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Franchise Growth
- Develop and maintain relationships with restaurant brokers and franchise lenders across the US to effectively promote buying and selling opportunities within the KFC brand. Support franchisees who are looking to grow with identifying opportunities and connecting with potential capital funding sources to fund their growth.
- Partner with franchisees and key internal stakeholders to develop growth plans (organic and inorganic) for franchisees across the US.
- Partner with KFC Development to assess new growth opportunities for the brand. Develop, test and execute incentives that encourage strategic franchise growth that is aligned with KFC's overall brand strategy and vision.
- Collaborate with franchisees in creating and executing detailed succession plans. Partner with KFC Operations and Development to ensure that all new franchisees meet KFC's rigorous standards for New Franchise Candidates. Ensure that all new franchisees are aligned to KFC's growth strategy, brand vision and commitment to operational excellence.
- Support and execute various aspects of the franchise Ownership Change process including franchisee to franchisee transfers/re-sales, and refranchising/acquisition initiatives. Create comprehensive approval memorandums supported by detailed cash flow models, key financial ratio & trend analysis, as well as an extensive review of current and future capital investment needs.
- Coach and support the Sr. Analyst of Franchise Finance who is responsible for closure mitigation, franchise growth and developing content for the Franchise Business Academy. The Business Academy provides franchisees with resources and tools to help maintain a successful enterprise, including identifying and sharing best practices and tools across the franchise system to franchisees and ARLs.

Restaurant Economics
- Head a cross functional team focused on strategic initiatives to improve restaurant economics, focused on sales and margin growth as well as operational efficiencies. Effective role with teams designed to uncover, identify, and/or create productivity opportunities or cost savings for franchisees.
- Provide thought leadership on NCAC Restaurant Economics Committee (our franchisee leadership on the national ad council) identified business cases and capital expenditure recommendations.
- Support business case development through financial modeling/analysis and 3rd party vendor evaluations (specifically ROI review).
- Represent KFC Finance as the primary cross-functional liaison for Operations strategic growth projects.
- Present the status and results of projects at Leadership Team and NCAC meetings to influence decisions that will drive the operating capability of the entire system.

Ad Hoc
- Support the Director of Franchise Finance in preparing detailed reports for KFC's Leadership Team on YTD progress against strategic goals.
- Support KFC Finance Team as needed in ad hoc projects and various strategic initiatives.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Leadership team, including CFO, CLO, COO, and CDO
- Functional leaders, including the Director of Development, Director of Ops, Director of Legal
- Franchisees and their management in the KFC franchise system
- Bankers and restaurant brokers

KNOWLEDGE + SKILL REQUIRED
- Education/Certifications - B.S. required, preferably in Finance/Business or related field; MBA strongly preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of demonstrated track record of tangible/measurable results in consulting or strategic planning with significant exposure to corporate finance.
- Must have exceptional internal motivation, intellectual curiosity, rational thinking, and a desire to have a large commercial impact on the organization and being customer minded and focused is a must.
- Must have a desire to inspire the people around you.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving abilities leading to commercial business insight.
- Ability to efficiently manage workload well with shifting priorities & generate actionable recommendations.
- Excellent interpersonal & team skills with ability to present to Senior Leadership.
- Proven negotiation skills and ability to influence external parties, including franchise business advisors, the investment community and legal counsel is a must
- Experience in financial modeling, business valuation, and financial statement analysis.
- Previous experience with modeling complex business issues in order to influence decisions with a data driven point of view.
- Strong /advanced Excel skills. Strong system/technical skills, including knowledge of Microstrategy, People Soft, Hyperion, and proficient in the full Microsoft Office Suite.
